Vanguard Motor Sales LLC Salesforce Sales Cloud and SharinPix Migration from Dealer Accelerate

About the Client

Vanguard Motor Sales is the nation’s premier American classic and muscle car dealership. Since 2004, they have sold thousands of cars to people all over the world.


The Problem

Vanguard was using Dealer Accelerate, a platform that limited visibility to both historical and current inventory of vehicles and did not allow for mobile, on-the-go access. Because of the sheer volume of cars and trucks in the system, document and image management, as well as vehicle history tracking, was very difficult for Vanguard. There was no single source of data, and both operations and sales were spending valuable time trying to find information. The vehicle purchasing team was unable to leverage current and past information on vehicle offers and purchases, and lacked mobile access when out in the field. The sales team lacked the vehicle inventory information to properly anticipate and prepare for upcoming offers. The executive team was not able to forecast sales, and the management team spent hours each week manually gathering data for reporting on key company metrics.

Our Solution

Summit Technologies worked closely with Vanguard's staff to create and execute a project plan that included the following:

  • Centralized all buying team processes within one cloud based solution - Salesforce CRM, including: lead entry, vehicle screening process, offers, vehicle sales and marketing with third-party apps and tracking transport information and hand off to operations team

  • Designed and built custom objects to track each vehicle's specifications, offer and sales history, including photos and documents

  • Uploaded data for tens of thousands of vehicle transactions from previous system

  • Loaded over one million vehicle images to SharinPix, new on-platform image management solution

  • Built reports to support the Field & Executive teams, in particular:

    • Vehicles that do not complete screening process

    • How many offers accepted

    • Vehicle elimination reasoning

  • Provided comprehensive administrator & user training to ensure Vanguard Auto Sales team can use Salesforce proficiently after project go-live


The Result

The Vanguard Salesforce CRM implementation was a big success! The client was up and running in the new system within a few months. Client users have responded very positively to Salesforce and the client admins are finding it easier than ever before to support their users and extend the solution as needed to ensure it keeps up with the demands of their business. Summit Technologies remains engaged with the client to provide additional optimization and support as their business grows and evolves.
